The Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados), within the scope of Brazilian Footwear, a program to support footwear exports maintained in partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), is launching a new campaign for the internationalization of Brazilian footwear. Made in Brazil, produced in Portuguese with English and Spanish subtitles, aims to highlight the strength of the green-yellow product abroad. From the launch, the international campaign will be publicised on Brazilian Footwear's social networks and sent to a mailing list of more than five thousand international buyers.

The Image Promotion coordinator at Abicalçados, Alice Rodrigues, says that the webseries consists of five videos, in which Brazilian footwear industries highlight the attributes of the green-yellow product. “We are the fifth largest producer in the sector on the planet, the largest in the West, and we are present in more than 170 countries. Today our footwear is the object of desire in shop windows around the world for attributes ranging from quality to the increasing adoption of sustainable production processes, an international consumer demand”, she evaluates.

According to Alice, in the webseries, the shoemakers highlight investments in innovation and sustainability, the ability to meet international demand in all segments, among other important points that place Brazil as a major player in the sector worldwide. "The foreign market already knows, but it is always important to emphasize the competitive attributes of our footwear. In addition to the excellence found in our products, which meet demands for small and large quantities - unlike Asia, focused on mass production -, we have a complete park of suppliers that guarantee quality, origin and sustainability to our shoes”, concludes the coordinator.

The web series, which highlights the expertise of those who have been present in the international market for more than five decades, is launched at a time of increased exports in the sector. Data prepared by Abicalçados indicate that, between January and July, footwear exports totaled the shipment of 86.87 million pairs, which generated US$ 763.4 million, an increase in both volume (+31.8%) and revenue (64.8%) in relation to the same period last year.
